John is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice. Kay is retired after working 34 years for the State of Georgia. We both love to travel and have a long list of places we want to see. We have 3 wonderful children (a daughter, son-in-law, and son) and 1 precious grandchild. Our family is going to be growing soon. Our son is getting married in May to a sweet young lady that has a 2 year old daughter. So we will have 4 wonderful children and 2 precious grandchildren!

New Hardwood Floors - What a mess, but so worth it!

We are in the process of getting new hardwood floors in our dining room and having the wood floor in the foyer refinished. Boy, what a mess. My den is full of all of my dining room furniture and everything that was in it. I can't stand my house being in a mess but it sure is right now - and I'm having Thanksgiving here a week from today! The floors won't be finished until Friday and I can't move the furniture back in until Monday, but I'm not going to panic. I'm sure everything will be fine. I'm excited about the floors - they look great right now and they aren't even finished yet.

The Petzelt Pages

We're joining the New Generation! Well, this is entirely new to us and something we never imagined we would be doing. But, we thought, "what the heck, we'll give it a try!"

Since I retired, I am so busy I don't know how I had time to work. I am a certified volunteer at Canine Assistants, a non-profit organization in Alpharetta, GA that trains service dogs for adults and children with mobility impairments and/or seizure disorders. It is very rewarding work, if you can actually call it work. It is so much fun working with the dogs, reinforcing their basic commands, taking them on outings and bringing them home for home visits to work on house manners. I am also working on improving my photography skills by taking photography classes. I love taking pictures and scrapbooking all of the memories.

John and I love to travel. There are so many beautiful places we want to see. Our travel wish list is very long. I'll keep our travel adventures posted on this blog. Our latest adventure was through New England to see the fall foliage. I wonder if the New Englanders appreciate their beautiful fall landscapes as much as the visitors do. We saw some beautiful countryside and ate some good lobster!

Thanks for checking us out. Check back often to see what we are up to.
